My Fashion Evolution

I'm addicted to shopping. I love shopping. I need to go to therapy for shopping. I shop way too much. The problem really isn't much so that I love shopping too much it's that I also love to throw away clothes... I will buy a whole new wardrobe for winter and I will throw it all away the second the weather hits over 70 degrees. I've spent entirely too much money on clothes and I know it too. (On the positive side) what comes with wardrobe makeovers is there's room to change your style over and over and over again. I've gone through many stages; High School Musical merch phase, the "Marshall's" chapter, THE-TARGET-EVERYTHING-LONGEST-YEAR-OF-MY-ENTIRE-LIFE, the Grunge phase, the American Eagle juncture and now were at the Thrifting episode.

I am going to pick my favorite pieces from each chapter of my fashion evolution and describe the awfulness to you.

So *CONFESSION* I had never watched a single HSM movie until the age of 16. My parents never let me watch it, so whenever my friends would play the High School Musical Soundtrack I would pretend to know the words and then my singing would quietly fade because I did not know the words or melody. My mom used to LOVE shopping at Good Will and she'd bring home some of the cheesiest 2006 things ever. On this particular day, my mom brought home a classic High School Musical T - Shirt. I was so excited. Only the cool kids wore HSM merch. The next day I wore (please brace yourself) ... My new HSM shirt, Hello Kitty sweatpants and Converse... Okay, we're done. NEXT PHASE.

This one is bad but it could've been worse. When I was 13 I discovered this wonderful place with the cheapest clothes ever... Marshall's. At 13 I started babysitting constantly so I was consistently bringing in money. The only thing I ever spent my money on was... you guessed it... Marshall's. I would go with my friend Bridget and we would shop for hours. I openly admit that I was obsessed with the clothes from Marshall's but what I really went crazy over was the Lily Bloom bags. These little hip bags use to be EVERYTHING. I'll put a picture in but they were these tiny bags with a million adorable patterns that I'd pair with everything. In the picture featured I'm wearing a particularly awful brown dress and drapey white cardigan from yours truly... Marshall's.

This is the longest "episode" I held onto. THE TARGET PHASE!! I personally love this chapter of the fashion book. I wore a lot of button down tops, jeans and oxfords (all from target). My favorite outfit I wore during the Year-Of-Target was what I wore to a New Years Eve party. A red flannel, jeans, ankle boots, a dark nail and lots of little rings. There's not much to say about this look but it was cute and well long lived. In the picture featured I am wearing a yellow a line skirt, white button down and nude flats all from Target.

THIS ONE IS MY FAVORITE. My grunge phase. I loved loved loved this look. This was when I had my
fake eyelashes and nails and only wore beanies and flannel. My favorite look I had was my Metallica T, ripped jeans, flannel around my waist and my torn up sneakers. I really felt like myself in this look but not everyone liked it, that's why I changed my style from Grunge to Vintage.

I can't really go in depth of my vintage stage yet but I'll keep you guys updated. :)

xoxo, Anna
